As a Brookline resident myself, I was surprised (and ecstatic) to hear news of a tapas restaurant opening on our turf. Boston Restaurant Talk is reporting that “a brand new tapas spot” called 404 Tapas Lounge has “quietly opened” on Harvard Street in Brookline.

Meaning the tapas restaurant has been open for a few weeks – good news for all those Coolidge Corner residents out there (myself included).

Rachid Kourda is the chef and owner of 404 Tapas Lounge who, according to Boston Restaurant Talk “has worked at several restaurants in Boston, New York, and California, including Harvard Gardens in Beacon Hill.” And it looks like he’s added Brookline to this list starting this month.

The 404 Tapas Lounge Facebook page indicates that the restaurant opened a few weeks ago. They explain:

“Our cuisine is influenced by a French- New American tapas culinary free styling. 404 offers a unique atmosphere that is perfect for festive and intimate gatherings. Lounge and Remixed mixed music is played Monday through Sunday. Join us for some good fun!”

So if you weren’t aware before of it’s existence – no worries, now you know. Below are pictures from the restaurant’s Facebook page giving us a peek at the new eatery. Check out Brookline’s latest tapas restaurant and let us know what you think!
