Boston, brace yourselves. As if we needed any more reason to look forward to summer, there’s rumors a-swirlin’ that this year, we’ll have a new frosty treat to wash down all those hot dogs, burgers and other stuff we eat that tastes better in the summer.

Pete Boyd, the touted ‘Purveyor of Beer’ (@PeteMFBoyd on Twitter) in Boston, seems to have started the conversation after posting an Instagram photo of a can (not a real can, as he explains in the caption) of a Narragansett summer shandy featuring Del’s Lemonade. Now, hopefully you’ve tasted the sweet, sweet nectar that is a Del’s frozen lemonade, but if you haven’t, you can be rest assured that it makes a damn good shandy, coming from someone who has DIY mixed it with beer before.

Here’s the Instagram that’s creating a buzz all about the Internet:

And the caption:

Not an actual can, but get excited for what the summer will bring you. #hineighbor @gansettbeer #beer

Oh, we’re excited. And if this is a cruel prank, well, we’ll just have to resort to my DIY version, which I strongly recommend anyway.

BostInno reached out to Boyd and is waiting to hear back.
