Jared Leto was a big winner last night. He took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor and landed himself atop every “best hair” list. Rightfully so, too. The rocker/actor’s effortless, ombré look was the envy of every viewer – male and female alike.

As soon as he hit the red carpet, my news feed was filled with comments such as, “Printing a pic of Jared to bring to my next hair appointment. BRB.” And you know what? I totally thought the same thing.

So how exactly does the Oscar winner tame his tresses? With the help of his longtime stylist, Chase Kusero, of course. Kusero reveals it was a mix of a dark, grown-out hue and a few painted strands.

Product and painted strands. Got it. But I also can’t help feeling a big part of Leto’s just-woke-up-like-this look is that, well, he really did just wake up like that. The guy exudes effortless cool. Period.
