Last year, the cronut craze sent our nation into a state of shameless sugar binging. They were everywhere – even at Cafe de Boston. And, as you witnessed (or took part in), the sweet croissant-donut hybrid flew off the shelves like a bat out of hell.

Now it looks as though the pastry chef behind the infamous treat is at it again. Today.com reported that Dominique Ansel has created a new special treat and will unveil it at Austin’s SXSW festival this weekend. The dessert pastry hybrid is apparently a Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shot.

Yes, you heard us right. And there’s the picture (above) to prove it.

According to Today.com, the Cookie Milk Shot is “a mash-up of a chocolate chip cookie and a glass of milk.” The pastry chef “uses an extra-aerated cookie dough, which allows him to mold the cookie into the shape of a shot glass while retaining the cookie’s crisp edge and moist base. The cookie shot is then filled with ice-cold milk.”

I’m not going to lie –This dessert is kind of amazing. I only wonder how I didn’t think of this myself – given that cookies and milk were my two staple foods as a child. But I digress.

As of right now, the Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shots will only be available at the Cronut at Midnight event during SXSW. Will they end up in Ansel’s NYC pastry shop? Maybe. But let’s face it – we’re really just hoping to see the knock-off in a Boston bakery very soon. Any takers?
