Law enforcement officials will outline new security measures  for the 2014 Boston Marathon at press conference scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Local, state and federal officials have been planning together for the past several months to produce enhanced measures for the 118th running of the marathon.

Today’s announcement will take place in Framingham, at the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) headquarters.

Last month, the Boston Athletic Association sent a mass email that detailed security restrictions that will be in effect for next month’s marathon.

Backpacks, glass containers, suitcases and rolling bags will not be permitted this year near the Athletes’ Village; Unlike years past, military ruck-marchers won’t be allowed on the marathon route, which spans from Hopkinton to Boston’s Boylston Street.

This year’s marathon will be held on April 21.
