Here in Boston, it’s undeniable that we love our beer – but we don’t seem to like wine any less, either. At least, not according to this handy wine consumption map (above).

Business Insider recently published this data taken from the Beverage Information Group, evaluating how much wine per person each state consumed in 2013. Obviously, Washington, D.C.’s pressure cooker of an environment leads the nation in wine consumption – but it looks like Massachusetts isn’t far behind.

According to the data, Massachusetts residents consumed nearly 17 liters of wine per person, putting our state in 4th place as far as wine drinking is concerned. Not bad, my friends.

Not far ahead were D.C., New Hampshire, and Vermont. I guess you could say there aren’t too many teetotalers in the Northeast. To see where the rest of the states fall, check the Business Insider list here.

We recommend celebrating your vino-loving pride with Smith & Wollensky’s “National Wine Week” specials. Cheers!
