Boston nightlife just got a whole lot better. Starting April 1, food trucks at select vending sites will be allowed to stay open until Midnight, according to a City of Boston press release sent this morning.

The select vending areas will include Copley Square, Boston University and Northeastern University. Great news for all those who live or enjoy late-night shenanigans in these neighborhoods. Those who leave the bars will no longer suffer from hunger pangs – but can instead stuff their faces with fare served by 10 different Boston food trucks.

The trucks participating in the pilot program will include: BBQ Lamb Brothers, Bon Me, Chicken and Rice Guys, Cookie Monstah, Frozen Hoagies, Mediterranean Home Cooking, Meng’s Kitchen, Stoked Pizza, Tea Station, and The Bacon Truck (late night bacon, folks).

In a release, Mayor Walsh explained that “Food truck owners and customers have been asking for later hours for food trucks, and we’ve been listening,” he continued “We’ll be looking at this pilot to see if it’s something we can expand to more sites.” To which we say – feel free to expand to every corner of Boston’s nightlife scene (please).

According to the release though, this will depend upon the success of the program, “including feedback from Food Truck owners and customers, as well as other involved City agencies…”

Just another reason to look forward to spring, folks.
