Happy Monday, Boston. It’s freezing out there. Spring definitely hasn’t officially started. And it could snow a significant amount this week.

According to Boston’s National Weather Service, “a significant and potentially dangerous coastal storm” is slated to break ground on New England Tuesday night and persist throughout Wednesday morning. Heavy snow and strong winds are expected across Southeastern New England. NWS reports the worst of the storm will be felt over the Cape Cod Islands.

Areas of Cape Cod and other “north-facing” shorelines could face the threat of coastal flooding come high tide Wednesday morning. It’s still early, so the NWS stresses “subtle shifts in the storm track will change outcomes significantly.” At this time, Southeast New England faces the biggest threat.

It looks like Boston will avoid the blizzard conditions Wednesday, and will remain in the clear until Tuesday night, according to Weather.com. In Boston, snow is expected to start Tuesday night and last throughout Wednesday morning.
