Here in the Hub, we’re no strangers to great food and world-class restaurants. New York may have more options but we like to think it’s about quality over quantity in the Hub. And given the slew of our recent rankings, awards and nominations – it’s clear that the Boston area has some serious restaurant talents.

Fortunately, a few of them landed on Food & Wine’sThe People’s Best New Chefs” nominee list. Today, the magazine announced their top 100 nominees, with 10 chefs nominated in each of the 10 regions. Out of the 10 New England nominations, four of them were from Massachusetts, including three local chefs.

The local chefs included: Tim Maslow of Ribelle, Carolyn Johnson of 80 Thoreau in Concord, and Phillip Tang of East by Northeast.

Food & Wine will tally the online votes to determine 10 regional winners (one per region). The finalist with the most votes will win the title of “The People’s Best New Chef” and will be featured in an upcoming issue of Food & Wine magazine.

Starting today through March 31, diners can vote for their favorite chef here. So cast your vote, and let us know who your favorite local chef is in the comments below!
