Hate to break it to you, Boston, but our beloved New England coffee chain’s new seasonal coffee line was ripped a new one by the Huffington Post today.

The website claimed, “Whatever you think about Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, these new flavors may leave a foul taste in your mouth.” Ouch. The seasonal selection comes in three different flavors and can now be found in grocery stores.

The three flavors include: Peach Cobbler, Toasted Almond, and Coconut. I have to say that while peach cobbler is certainly one of the best desserts ever created, I can’t imagine it in my coffee. Vanilla, caramel and hazelnut are all acceptable coffee flavor choices, though.

The Huffington Post reports that the flavor “smelled like peach gummy candies and tasted worse.”

The other two flavors didn’t exactly receive raving reviews either. The Toasted Almond flavor, according to the Huffington Post Taste team, “…was just gross.” And the Coconut flavor “smelled worse than it tasted” – a half-compliment at best.

While I agree that the idea of a “Peach Cobbler” coffee sounds strange – I can’t say that the Coconut or Toasted Almond flavors seem all that bad to me. It’s clear that Dunkin’ is gearing up for the warm season and these flavors are indicative of that. Hey, we can’t hate the coffee-chain for trying (even if they really did use this description below).

“Our Peach Cobbler Flavored Coffee sure is swell. But how do we pack so much peachy-keen flavor and sweet Southern charm into one cup? A gentleman never asks, and a lady never tells.”
