Well, it looks as though Boston’s Financial District will soon be home to a new, sophisticated watering hole. Bostonia Public House, described as “an elegant renewal of a classic Boston meeting place,” is set debut the week of April 14, according to an official source.

The new bar and restaurant will be located in the former Kitty O’Shea’s space in the historic Board of Trade Building at 131 State Street. And, according to the release, the spot will offer “a welcoming concept serving up a sensible mix of sociability and sophistication.” Bostonia Public House will offer those who work and play downtown a new dining and drinking destination.

The space, designed by HGTV Host and Food Network Designer Taniya Nayak, was created as a community gathering place. With a rustic interior and polished modern accents, Bostonia Public House will exhibit a vintage look with “casual elegance,” as described in a release.

The restaurant’s space will accommodate over 200 guests and include an expansive downstairs bar, intimate upstairs bar, dining room, communal tables, private dining and event spaces.

As for the food, you can expect a “refined-rustic” menu which includes: Bostonia Baked Beans, Braised Lamb, a Lobster Roll, Berkshire Bourbon Maple Glazed Sweet Potato Doughnuts and more. Snacks, sharing plates and starters range from $5 to $18 while entrees will range from $21 to $34.

Bostonia Public House will also boast a selection of 45 wines by the glass. Yes, you heard us right – 45 wines by the glass (almost too good to be true). The beverage menu will also feature craft cocktails and plenty of beer.

Their signature cocktails include: The J. Grady, a take on the Old Fashioned with Angel’s Envy rye, blood orange, Luxardo maraschino liqueur, sugar and bitters and the Bostonia Sour with Jack Daniels Single Barrel, fresh lemon, and simple syrup finished with Bostonia Pinot Noir.

Cheers to more “happy hours” in Boston’s springtime future!
