Whether you’re training for the marathon or are just looking for an excuse to hit the mat, the Boston-based company, Yoga by Numbers, wants to help. On Sunday at 9:30 a.m. join fellow yogis as well as Yoga by Numbers creator, Elizabeth Morrow, for a morning of fitness, brunch and shopping. The class will be held at the True Runner store in Chestnut Hill and will benefit the Girls on the Run Boston Marathon Team.

This foundation is all about helping girls become active through running and other activities. And just like for most of us, the Boston Marathon holds a special place in their heart. The 2013 Boston Marathon was their inaugural race as an organization, with two runners who were not able to finish. This year, among many others, GOTR is coming together to run for an important cause.

The organization’s focus is to promotes positive self esteem and physical health for girls ages 9 to 13. According to their site, they use an “experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.” It’s safe to say that collaborating with Yoga by Numbers for this family-friendly event is a great way to show girls the power of becoming a fitness-based entrepreneur.

True Runner will open its doors at 9:30 a.m. with the hour-long yoga place beginning at 9:45 a.m. There is a suggested $25 donation for this event which can be paid at the door when you arrive. Following the class, participants are welcome to stay for brunch, a raffle and to shop the store for any fitness apparel you may want.
