We’ve all been there. Making a coffee run, heading home from the gym, or sitting down to brunch only to be stopped in our tracks by a passerby’s flawless ensemble. But lest we disturb (or, worse, scare) the supremely chic being, we watch wistfully as the Perfect Outfit saunters by, along with any hope of learning where it came from. However, thanks to a new app called The Hunt, we no longer have to invade someone’s personal space to steal his or her great style.

Instead, all that’s required is The Hunt and a healthy dose of stealth. Using the app, simply snap a quick photo of the fashionably gifted guy or girl (taking care to not include his or her face) and then share it with fellow users who, with their own fashion savviness, can help identify the items. Consider it crowdsourcing couture.

Not quite ready to play paparazzi? Try snapping pictures of celebrities you see online or in magazines before you take to the streets in search of great style.
