Last week we brought you news of Parla, the upcoming Italian “speakeasy” set to open in the North End. With its intentional play on words (“parla” in Italian means to speak) and its unique concept, the “speakeasy” is now one the most anticipated openings in Boston.

But according to a recent post by UrbanDaddy, it doesn’t look like we have much longer to wait. The site reports that Parla will have a soft-opening next Monday and Tuesday, and an official opening next Wednesday, April 16.

But getting into the soft opening requires a couple of steps. UrbanDaddy reports that first, you’ll need to submit your email to Parla’s website. The restaurant will then “reply with instructions on how to get in.” Doesn’t sound all that complicated, actually.

Parla will also have a “secret menu” with cocktails and food, which you can order “by telling the server a password,” notes the article.

An earlier press release from Parla reveals that the Italian speakeasy will be “one part bootlegger warehouse, one part restaurant” with an added “pinch of the eccentric.” The restaurant’s cuisine will be Italian driven, with a Mediterranean influence and an all Italian wine list, which includes unique wines from small Italian vineyards.

You can expect cocktails with a twist including the Rhuby Mule, a rhubarb and grapefruit take on a classic Moscow Mule. The Dillinger Sidecar, a whiskey and blood orange take on a classic Sidecar, and The Bee-Sting Julep, a habanero and honey whiskey twist on a Mint Julep.

Guess the cat’s out of the bag – let us know whether you’ll be signing up for Parla’s special soft opening next week.
