Given that Faneuil Hall is the seventh most popular tourist destination in the world, we can assume that the city of Boston hosts hoards of tourists every year. If you don’t believe me, then we recommend paying a little visit to the tourist-laden environment of Faneuil Hall. Just try not to get run over by a fanny pack stampede in the process.

Yes our city is certainly popular, attracting tourists from all over the world each year. But not only do they visit Boston, they also write reviews about their stay – and plenty of them.

According to USA Today, TripAdvisor recently examined and compiled “millions of travelers’ reviews posted on its website to come up with the top U.S. and worldwide destination for 2014.” Our own lovely city of Boston came in as the 14th best destination in the U.S.

TripAdvisor claims “No, you can’t actually park your car in Harvard Yard. What you can do in Boston is enjoy some of the country’s most important historical sites and impassioned sports fans.” Yes well, that’s true. Although, we recommend tourists explore a few of Boston’s hidden gems as well.

As for the rest of the rankings, it should come as no surprise that New York came in at number one, followed by Chicago at number two and San Francisco at number 3.
