Hallelujah! It finally feels like spring outside (with a promise of summer) – and we plan to take full advantage of it. After all, there’s no better day to step outside, soak up some sun, patio drink (or brunch), and actually remember why you ever liked this cold city in the first place.

So, put those SAD lamps away and start planning your sunny Saturday (and the glorious summer months ahead). And if you’re looking for something to today that involves being outside (of course you are), then we highly recommend heading to Harvard Square for a unique tour that combines food, restaurants and history.

The Cambridge Historical Society plans to host a walking tour of  the“dearly departed restaurants of Harvard Square.” Guests will be introduced to some of Harvard Square’s oldest – and now departed – restaurants.

The event, called “Closed Kitchens,” is sponsored by Shake Shack (naturally) and will include a tour guide along with “special guests” who “will tell tales” about working in these departed restaurants, according to the website.

We’re not sure if actual Shake Shack food is involved – but regardless, you’re sure to find something tasty on the trail. The “Closed Kitchen” tours will be held today at 1 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m. Check out the event’s website, to purchase tickets and learn more.
