Every year, big-name stars attend the Met Gala – but this time, the turnout is projected to be beyond A-list. According to WWD, First Lady (and two-time Vogue cover star) Michelle Obama will cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony of the Met’s new fashion wing, The Anna Wintour Costume Center. And just like that, my anticipation for the Met Gala skyrocketed.

I mean, sure, I was already excited for the white-tie dress code and the Charles James exhibition. But this? This is bigger than big. And in addition to cutting the ribbon, the First Lady will also be speaking at the morning’s ceremony. So a stunning day dress is definitely going to happen. My bet is on something black and white, especially after she went monochromatic on a recent trip to China.

Now, it’s not certain if she will attend the evening Gala (bummer), but regardless, this is one FLOTUS sighting you won’t want to miss.

Head over to WWD for more on Michelle Obama’s Met appearance.
