If you haven’t yet made a trip to Boston’s growing Fan Pier, it’s time to venture across the Channel. The retail community on the Waterfront is already home to several high-end restaurants including Empire Asian Restaurant & Lounge, Sam’s, and Strega Waterfront – as well as luxury clothier Louis Boston and Salon Mario Russo.

And now in another wave of retail expansion, the neighborhood will soon be home to three new additions: A new Starbucks, a Mediterranean restaurant and a Bright Horizons child care center.

Seaport District residents and working professionals will soon find themselves in latte heaven. According to a release, the new Fan Pier Starbucks location will include 2,100 square feet of street floor space, and is expected to open sometime during summer 2014.

In addition, the new Fan Pier restaurant, Committee, will help diversify the area’s offerings. The restaurant concept will specialize in Mediterranean “meze” and hand-crafted cocktails, according to a release. It is expected to open this coming fall 2014. Restaurateur George Aboujaoude of Newbury Street’s Cafeteria and Bijou Nightclub is behind the Fan Pier venture.

Once these retail expansions are complete, “Fan Pier – a joint venture of The Fallon Company, MassMutual and Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers – will feature a total of eight contemporary commercial and residential luxury high rises,” according to a release.

Get excited. These developments are certainly a wonderful excuse to explore the growing Fan Pier area this year – latte in-hand.
