Watch out, Boston! Southern hospitality is coming your way soon. Boston Restaurant Talk is reporting (via a Craigslist and Twitter post) that a new restaurant and bar could be coming to the Fenway area very soon.

The article reports that “a couple of posts within the Craigslist site indicate that a dining and drinking spot… will be opening somewhere on Lansdowne Street.” The Craigslist post states that the spot will have “Southern Hospitality, Fried Chicken, Cold Beer & Country Music.”

Count me in.

The ad pretty much named four of my favorite things in the world (but I digress). It also mentions that the restaurant will be “opening late May” – and that means you better start shining those cowboy boots in time for this Fenway honky tonk’s opening.

I’m just hoping it’s something akin to NYC and DC’s beloved Hill Country Barbeque, an amazing Texan restaurant with live country music and plenty of Shiner Bock. Or a total dive with cheap beers. Either way, I’m looking forward to being in honky tonk heaven this month.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about this “Southern” restaurant, coming soon (we hope).

[Updated May 15, 2014] Universal Hub is now reporting that the restaurant that The Lyons Group is opening on Lansdowne Street will be “a down-home eatery serving old-fashioned Southern food to the sound of country, bluegrass and folk music.” It will be called Loretta’s Last Call and will be moving into the shuttered La Verdad space.
