What says summer better than grilling out? Whether you’re charring hamburgers in the backyard or enjoying a patio BBQ party, we have a feeling this upcoming weekend will be an ember and flamed-filled holiday. And that’s always a good thing.

Fortunately for Boston, we’re now home to one of the best grill restaurants in the country – according to Food & Wine. The magazine listed 8 amazing new grill restaurants in the U.S. and highlighted “flame-loving chefs” who are “elevating humankind’s oldest and simplest culinary technique into its tastiest.”

The Boston-area restaurant that made the list was the recently opened La Brasa restaurant in Somerville. The article states that chef and owner, Daniel Bojorquez, was “raised in Hermosillo—Mexico’s unofficial carne asada capital” and “is a grill virtuoso.”

For those unfamiliar with La Brasa, the restaurant serves up all sorts of grilled fare. The Boston Globe described the eatery as a “hip grill” with “wood-fired small plates, entrees, and cocktails.” A few of the main entrees that the article points to are “lamb shank pozole in red chile broth, pork tacos dressed with salsa verde and chile de arbol, oysters on the half shell… rib roast with cilantro chimichurri.”

The overall vibe and fare sound pretty phenom to me. And lucky for us – that means you can save the grilling for someone else this Memorial Day weekend.

Check out the rest of Food & Wine’s best new grill restaurants that made the list and have a very grill-filled weekend!
