Developing: The Onion has once again made fun of Boston. Not a big surprise considering that the satirical news source has poked fun of our city a number of times in the past. But this time, the source singled out one of our most beloved landmarks, the Museum of Fine Arts. Le sigh.
In the article, The Onion paints the story of an exasperated tourist who confesses that the “Boston Museum of Fine Arts is so irredeemably shitty that it does not even have a Mona Lisa.” Well, I guess he’s right – we don’t technically have a Mona Lisa.
The tourist states in the article:
“Look, when I go to a museum I want to see that soup can painting, the sculpture of the thinking guy, and the Mona Lisa. Not a bunch of freaking quilts. What a scam.”
But hey – at least, they’re pretty awesome quilt exhibits. Today, the MFA even acknowledged the article in their tweets (below).
