Station platforms are overflowing Wednesday morning while the Red Line is experiencing severe delays due to a disabled MBTA train at Davis Square.
On Twitter, frustrated (would-be) T-riders have posted a steady stream of photos, depicting hoards of commuters waiting to board Red Line trains. It appears, the sheer volume of people crammed on the platform at Davis has overflowed to the point that lines have begun to form on stairs.
As one tweet suggested, it’s like the “Hunger Games” this morning.
The T posted it’s Red Line service alert on Twitter at 8:26 a.m. At 8:17 a.m.,@Red_Line_Alerts handle tweeted that moderate southbound Red Line delays had broken out due to a disabled train.

Don’t bother taking the @MBTA red line at Harvard, heavy delays, 4 trains past and still zero chance of getting on. pic.twitter.com/U6Ur4XMloa
