High temps don’t have to mean sleeping sans covers. Your bed should be a cozy, enveloping sanctuary no matter what the season. So choose breathable 100% cotton, then begin layering.
- Start with the basics. A mattress cover will extend the life of your mattress and keep your fitted sheet from sliding off.
- Stay cool with crisp, breathable percale. Lay down your flat sheet, followed by a light, cotton blanket. Tuck them both in tightly and turn down at the top.
- Fold a duvet in thirds. Keep your comforter gathered at the foot of the bed for cooler nights – and to add plush texture to the overall look.
- Finish with pillows. Two sleepers, two shams, and a few front-facing throw pillows should do it. (There’s no such thing as too many.)
