This weekend is the Phantom Gourmet BBQ and Music Festival, and Salt-N-Pepa, The Mighty Mighty BossToneS and The Gaslight Anthem will be performing on City Hall Plaza amidst all the food and fun. Whether you’ve scored your tickets to the BBQ fest yet or not, we got a surprise this morning when Jimmy Kimmel was added to the festival’s lineup.

The late night talk show host arrived in Boston this morning to celebrate Dicky Barrett’s birthday, which will also be honored during the festival. Barrett, the lead singer of The Mighty Mighty BossToneS, is also Kimmel’s announcer on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Kimmel will appear at the festival this weekend. Above, Kimmel is pictured with Barrett and Cousin Sal, another member of the Jimmy Kimmel Live! team after arriving in Boston at the Revere Hotel.

The festival kicks off today and lasts through Sunday, with chefs from different parts of the country cooking up their best BBQ, a man-made beach on the plaza, a hot dog eating contest and plenty of good times throughout Sunday. Tickets for the daytime festival are $5 in advance and $10 at the event, while tickets for the nightly concerts are $15 on Friday night and $32.50 on Saturday night.
