Getting around in Boston, let alone neighboring cities like Cambridge or Somerville, is difficult. The MBTA craps out on all of us, vehicular traffic is almost always bumper-to-bumper and nontraditional forms of transportation are still in the works of getting safer. A new map out of MIT’s Media Lab, though, could ease some of your frustration by letting you know the transit efficiency of neighborhoods in Cambridge.

The interactive map, available to play around with here by the MIT Media Lab, shows which areas of Cambridge are the most equitable and most environmentally sustainable forms of urban transportation.

Meant to visualize the efficiency of transportation infrastructure of public transportation by Cambridge neighborhoods, the map takes into consideration the times it takes to reach each any part of the neighborhood from a specific location.

Take a look at and play with the map available via the link above. Let us know in the comments section below if you think the nerds over at Cambridge got it right, and if the public transportation routes are accurate.
