Get your hash fill while you still can! Tomorrow, June 28 Charlie’s Sandwich Shoppe will be closing its doors for good, reports Boston Restaurant Talk. The iconic sandwich shop has been serving up turkey hash to hungry Boston diners for over 87 years now.
This past May, the shop tweeted out the sad news to customers stating:
We will be closing at the end of June. We would like to thank all of our friends, family, and customers for 87 years of great memories.

News of its closing was met with shock and sadness from the Boston community. But at least we had a couple of months left to get our Charlie’s Sandwich Shoppe fix before it closes. Now, according to the restaurant’s Facebook post, it seems that the restaurant is indeed closing tomorrow.
And as you can see, plenty of folks were eagerly waiting outside their doors this morning to get their last Charlie’s breakfast. Sad day.

It’s certainly the end of an era but we’re pretty sure Bostonians won’t forget this iconic sandwich shop so easily. Check out “photographs and memories” compiled by the South End institution, here!
