Let’s face it – nothing quite says “Boston” like a Boston Duck Tour. Cheesy or not, these World War II amphibious vehicles are a vital part of our city’s fabric. I can’t even remember the last time I walked around the Hub without hearing a “quack quack” from one of the many duck tour “ConDUCKtors.”

For most of us, however, these tours are typically limited to fanny pack-wearing tourists or the occasional out-of-town guest that needs entertaining. But this Fourth of July holiday week will be different.

That’s because the iconic Boston Ducks Tours will be offering free rides from July 3 through July 5. I repeat: Free Boston Duck Tour rides!

And considering the fact that these tours run upwards of $35 a ticket, we’d say this is a pretty sweet summer holiday deal. An official source tells us that the free tours are brought to us by Yoplait Greek yogurt. And that Boston Duck Boat riders will “be able to participate in in the Yoplait Greek Taste-Off, letting their taste buds choose which tastes better: Yoplait Greek Blueberry or Chobani Blueberry fruit-on-the-bottom.”

Not only can locals relax, sit back and take in the sights of Boston for free but they can also enjoy a free yogurt taste test. Sounds like a good deal to me.

A source tells us that there are only 480 tickets up for grabs on July 3, 390 tickets on July 4, and 480 tickets on July 5. To obtain your ticket, you’ll need to visit one of the three Boston Duck Tour ticket locations (Prudential Center, Museum of Science or New England Aquarium) on July 3, 4, and 5 to request a seat aboard the “Yoplait Greek DUCKS.” These tickets will be released each day for same-day tours.
