Many companies conduct surveys this time of year around consumer’s plans for the holidays. We took a look at what five leading Boston-area companies have released on the topic, including IDC, Liberty Mutual, TripAdvisor, Samuel Adams and Dunkin’ Donuts. Overall holiday shopping, travel and entertainment themes these leaders point to: people are gifting smart thanks to technology and a desire to give back, more people are traveling this holiday than last, and Boston is a hot spot for celebration.

  • Mobile shopping warriors will account for 28 percent, or $127 billion, of overall holiday spend this year (from IDC)
