Tonight, the MIT $100k and the MIT Clean Energy Prize competitions each announced their semi-finalist winners during one live, streamed webcast (scroll below for the video).

MIT $100k

Known as the world’s premier entrepreneurship competition, the MIT $100k kicked off 21 years ago. Its impact? Over 120 startups have launched, creating $16 billion of value and over 4,500 jobs. This year MIT received a record number of 260 entries. This business plan competition includes 5 tracks, with 5 semi-finalists selected for each. The winner will be awarded $100,000 after a final judging round in May. The 2011 semi-finalist teams by track:

MIT Clean Energy Prize

Established in 2008, the MIT Clean Energy Prize is a venture creation and innovation competition focused specifically on clean energy. To date, over $800,000 has been awarded to winners. Open to other universities, 80 business plan submissions were received this year that represent 47 different universities in the US. 25 semi-finalists were ultimately chosen, and spread over 5 different categories. Each team will have more legal and industry mentors to round out their business plans, which will be presented at the MIT Clean Energy Prize showcase in May. The 2011 semi-finalist teams by track:
