Today, Backupify, the leading online backup provider, announced the launch of CloudSight Search, cloud computing’s first dual search and archiving service. This new feature will allow Backupify users to quickly find data from different cloud services. It will also enable users to analyze the information before restoring the items to their original location. The service supports Facebook, Twitter, Google Apps, and more, but access to the private beta program will be exclusive.

Although CloudSight Search is currently in beta, it will be offered to Backupify users once their initial backups occur. The feature will span across all different cloud services to compile data based on keyword, date, and service type. Results will be displayed by priority in real time. Businesses will be offered data management capabilities that will help solve critical problems. Additionally, CloudSight Search will give social media professionals an automated audit trail of customer-facing corporate online communications within all major social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Gmail.

“Emerging social search engines are exciting but limited in that they only let you locate information – not restore it if it was deleted or view it if your cloud service is unavailable,” said Rob May, Co-Founder and CEO, Backupify. “CloudSight Search from Backupify is the first service of its kind that gives you the ability to not only find information across the social sphere, but also interact with, and restore it when necessary.”

CloudSight Search will be up for demonstration starting in Austin, TX this Friday, March 11 at the SXSW Interactive conference. Users that sign up for the service with the promo code “#SXSW” will receive priority access when it is made available to beta users. Backupify will be celebrating the launch at the “Boston in Austin” cocktail hour at 5:00 PM on March 13 with cosponsors Hubspot and oneforty. Make sure to check out the event here at Eventbrite.

Cambridge-based Backupify leads the pack as the No. 1 backup for cloud-based data, combining archiving and search and restore for services like Google Apps, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, and Flickr. Over 140,000 users use Backupify to protect 1 billion emails, 60 million images and 300 million tweets.
