The sports stock market, StarStreet, has just raised a seed investment round from some impressive West Coast investors. The investment round was led by SV Angel and Jarr Capital with participation from angel investors  Don McLagan, Andrew Blachman and Ben Littauer. In addition to the investment today StarStreet is announcing the launch of both March Madness and MLB markets.

SV Angel is a Silicon Valley based angel fund led by Ron Conway. Conway is one of the Valley’s most known and successful angel investors. He has invested in Google, Facebook, Zynga, Twitter and SB Nation to name a few. StarStreet is following in RunKeeper’s and HubSpot’s footsteps by successfully bringing some west coast heavy hitter investors to Boston. Well done.

StarStreet is a sports stock market where traders can buy and sell virtual shares of professional athletes using real money. “Trading on StarStreet is much like trading on E*Trade, except the market is filled with the players you know rather than companies you probably don’t,” said founder Jeremy Levine.

In addition to the funding news today, StarStreet is kicking off March Madness and MLB markets. The March Madness market, which is slightly different than existing markets, uses play money instead of real money. Users also buy and sell shares of teams rather than individual players.

While the exact investment dollars were not disclosed it looks like it won’t be long until we hear from StarStreet again. Check out this tweet from founder Jeremy Levine last night.

Congrats Jeremy and the rest of the team on the funding.
