Several Bostonians made TIME Magazine’s picks for the best 140 Twitter feeds. TIME divided the 140 into authors, businesses, comedians, politicians, pundits, etc. TIME didn’t just rely on how many followers someone had to make the list but also their content. For instance, Massachusetts US Senator Scott Brown has only 6,000 followers while his buddy President Obama, @BarackObama, has seven million followers and he didn’t make the list. TIME claims @USSenScottBrown makes politics interesting.

He might not be doing much for the Boston Celtics on the court but on Twitter, Shaquille O’Neal has more than 3 million followers and is considered by TIME as the “godfather of sports tweets”. They gave one funny example where @The_Real_SHAQ posted this tweet: “hey @justinbieber call me if u need a back up dancer, u got my numba”.

Two Brookline natives made the list. Funny man Conan O’Brien has more than two million followers. @conanobrien has people laughing out loud with tweets like “Charlie Sheen is doing a 21-city comedy tour. Being a mentally unstable out of work TV star on tour was my idea.” ESPN writer, Bill Simmons, also from Brookline, has about 1.3 million followers. @sportsguy33 is famous for funny feeds like, “Hi, I’m Derrick Williams. I’ll be destroying Duke tonight.” BostInno recently interviewed Simmons during the MIT Sports Conference in Boston.

Harvard University-related twitter feeds got two shout outs on TIME’s list. More than forty thousand people follow Harvard’s Nieman Lab, which recent tweets include, “Embrace the scary chart: A look at the newspaper industry’s ad revenue from 1980 to 2010”.  The Harvard Business Review has nearly half a million followers. @Harvardbiz focuses on the latest trends and research on how to run a business.

Rounding out the list is Dan Primack, Fortune’s private equity reporter. @danprimack is a must follow for any biz-news junkie in Boston. He has no problem telling it like it is and is very responsive to his followers. Primack has just over 5k followers.

Seven out of 140 feeds isn’t too shabby Boston! Hey, TIME you should start following @bostinnovation.
