Despite today’s snowstorm most Bostonians are ready to end their winter hibernation and hit the town. BostInno has searched all the events calendars and have put together a fun weekend for you. Who knows, maybe we will see you at one of these places. Enjoy our list!

If you normally have a glass or two of wine at a restaurant you may want to go hog wild this weekend. Sixteen restaurants are participating in Boston Wine Week through April 3. Participating restaurants are offering a minimum of six featured wines at deep discounts  from $9 a glass to $32 a bottle. Some of these bottles retail for $90. Use #BostonWineWeek for updates on Twitter.

After you get properly liquored up at dinner thanks to Boston Wine Week head on over to Central Square in Cambridge to see The Phreaks – celebrating the music of Phish at The Middle East Upstairs located at 472 Massachusetts Ave. The Phreaks, Played by Phans for Phans will be recreating the  2009 Fenway Park Concert and will also play HOIST in its entirety! The show is 18+ and $12 at the door.

If hanging out with a bunch of Phish heads on a Saturday night sounds unappealing check out Brian Regan at the Wilbur Theatre Boston, from 7:30 p.m. – 11:59 p.m. His stand up comedy is the perfect balance of sophisticated writing and  silly exaggerations. Tickets cost anywhere from $51.85-$68.20.

Another option for your Saturday night is to go see Gogol Bordello at the House of Blues located at 15 Lansdowne Street. Their style is described as “Gypsy punk”. Gogol Bordello uses  violins, guitars, accordions, and a lot of percussion to create “gypsy punk” music. Doors open at 6:00pm and the show starts at 7:00pm.  Tickets cost anywhere from $29.50-$37.50.

You know it is spring when you see that big tent setting up in City Hall Plaza. The 33rd Big Apple Circus is back for six weeks. Opening day is Saturday featuring Grandma and all her friends.  The theme of this year’s all-new show is Dance On. Among the acts will be monocyclists and lasso twirlers from China, Mongolian contortionists and 12 miniature horses. What’s so different about the Big Apple Circus is that it’s a one-ring circus and you’re never more than 50 feet away from the action. Tickets start at $15.

For some culture this weekend, go see New York-based painter Francesca DiMattio’s show at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA). DiMatti combines imagery from a wide range of architectural, decorative, and art historical sources. She laces together underlying patterns to construct these complicated compositions, lending a sense of logic to her seemingly chaotic assemblages. The artist has described her working practice as “getting into trouble and getting out of it.” General admission is $15 and $13 for students, $10 for seniors, free for members and people 17 and under.

In need of a makeover? Why not shave your head? Dillions at 955 Boylston Street  is hosting an event called St. Baldrick’s Day – shave to fight childhood cancer. At 2pm Saturday professional athletes and other Bostonians will donate their locks and shave their scalps to raise money for children with cancer. The event will benefit The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on funding research to find cures for childhood cancers.  All is welcome to this event!
