Earlier today Mayor Menino announced a new bike sharing service in Boston called, Hubway. According to Boston.com, the service “will open in July with 600 bicycles and 61 stations in the city, though they envision growing in a few years to as many as 5,000 bikes at more than 300 kiosks, from Brookline to Somerville.”

The service will operate similar to the car sharing service ZipCar where users will have membership options ranging from $5 a day to $85 a year. The best part of the service is that trips shorter than 30 minutes will be FREE.

Because I am terrified of urban biking, I decided to open it up to the community and gauge their reactions to the new service. We polled Twitter and Facebook and here is what you folks had to say.
