Coming off from a smooth $4 million Series C funding announcement just weeks ago to expand its tools and go global, Boston-based next-gen trading platform Currensee is already announcing a new feature in private beta. The Currensee Portfolio Builder is a new modeling tool that provides investors more insights into performance and risk before executing trades in foreign currency markets.

The tool is important because at its core Currensee allows investors like you and I, who may not be nearly as well versed in foreign exchange currency trading, to allocate money to and automatically execute trades based on investments made by elite, top performing investors in its community. These top traders are identified as Trade Leaders and take a fraction of any profits you make, so you can be sure incentives are aligned for them to place smart trades. And yet each Trade Leaders has different performance and risk profiles, that may or may not be right for you to create a balanced, diversified portfolio. The Portfolio Builder tool helps you analyze and decide which Trade Leader is best for you to follow.

With the tool, you can model and test investment scenarios based on the real-time portfolios of Trade Leaders you’re considering of following as well as different amounts of money you are thinking of allocating their way.

“The Currensee Portfolio Builder delivers a new level of transparency and insight, giving investors an interactive and powerful tool to help make more informed investing decisions,” Currensee CEO Dave Lemont said. “What’s key is that investors don’t need to be expert traders to participate in the world currency markets; they can leverage the expertise of our Trade Leaders to make their investments while still having full control of risk and performance goals of their personal portfolios. The innovation behind the new Currensee Portfolio Builder makes self-directed alternative investing a reality.”

The company is unveiling the product as part of its demo at FinovateSpring in San Francisco today, an invite-only conference and launchpad focused specifically on financial technologies. The Currensee Portfolio Building is currently in private beta, and will be generally available in Q3 later this year.
