People in Boston have a serious love-hate relationship with our transit system, the MBTA. No matter what camp you’re in, though, you have to admit that the MBTA is probably one of the most discussed topics across the city. You could even go so far as to argue that the MBTA is at the crux of the city’s culture. Hopefully in more of an effort to fuel culture, the MBTA will soon open an online store called MBTAgifts. Judging by the header on their site, everything from flip flops to coffee mugs will be available for purchase featuring the colorful T lines that carve out and characterize neighborhoods in and around Boston.

The MBTA already has a Facebook page for the online gift store, which shows wall posts of magnets and ornaments. More likely to sell like hotcakes: T-shirts. Norwood based DIY artists at Anti Designs is one firm behind the screen printed Tees, with Cambridge based WardMaps contributing to those currently featured on the MBTAgifts Facebook page. The video below shows one of Anti Designs’ designers in action screen printing these soon-to-be-available MBTA tees:

Simply can’t wait to get your hands on one of these tees? In love with the screen printed designs teased in the video? Anti Designs already sells unique, Boston-inspired tees. I actually have one from two years ago with screen prints of the old MBTA coins (remember those, before the CharlieCard?). Check out some of the designs currently available for purchase on their site below:

Would you sport an MBTA themed T-shirt around town?
