AppZero

Boston based AppZero, a company that virtualizes applications for ease of distribution and deployment, has appointed Citrix CTO Simon Crosby to its Board of Directors. From the release:

Simon took on the role as CTO of the Datacenter and Cloud Division at Citrix when the company acquired XenSource, where he was a founder and CTO. Prior to XenSource, Simon was a principal engineer at Intel where he led strategic research in distributed autonomic computing, platform security and trust. He also founded CPlane Inc., a network optimization software vendor, where he held a variety of executive roles. Before joining the private sector, Simon was a tenured faculty member at the University of Cambridge, UK, where he led research on network performance and control, and multimedia operating systems. He is author of over 35 research papers and patents on a number of datacenter and networking topics including security, network and server virtualization, resource optimization and performance. In 2007, Simon was awarded a coveted spot as one of InfoWorld’s Top 25 CTOs.”

Cloud Technology Partners (cloudTP)

Boston based Cloud Technology Partners (cloudTP), the leader in providing cloud solutions that empower business transformation, has appointed its Advisory Board which includes: Bill Helman, Partner, Greylock Partners; Todd Dagres, General Partner, Spark Capital; Tsvi Gal, Partner, Exigen Capital; and Chris Pasko, Senior Managing Director, Blackstone Advisory Partners LP. From the release:

Deerwalk

Lexington based Deerwalk, a software engineering firm with a large development center in Nepal, has appointed four new hires: Rudra Pandey, Ph.D. as Executive Chairman, Jeff Gasser (currently EVP) as President, Bill Higgins as COO, and Jo Anne Hunt as VP Clinical Development. From the release:

Rudra Pandey, Ph.D., will assume the role of the Executive Chairman. He will continue to lead the executive team and directly work with the company’s innovation team. … Jeff has been a founder and co-founder of several businesses in the past, including D2Hawkeye, and is a highly regarded healthcare business and product development executive. … Bill is an experienced health care executive with over 20 years experience. He has worked in many positions of healthcare businesses including HMOs, hospital systems, managed care organizations, and physician groups. … Ms. Hunt, a registered nurse, has extensive experience in the areas of clinical product design and development. iRobot

Bedford based iRobot, a leader in delivering robotic technology-based solutions, has appointed Gail Deegan to its Board of Directors. From the release:

A seasoned executive, Deegan brings more than 30 years of diverse and distinguished business experience to iRobot. Since 2002, Deegan has served on the board of directors at EMC Corporation, a leading global provider of IT products and services. Previously, Deegan served as chief financial officer and as a member of the board of directors at Houghton Mifflin Company. Before that, she served as chief financial officer at NYNEX/New England and Eastern Enterprises. Deegan has also served as a member of the board of directors at The TJX Companies Inc., Hartford Life Inc. and EG&G Inc.”

Searchandise Commerce

Beverly based Searchandise Commerce, the retail search media network that combines the pay-for-performance tactics of search marketing with in-store merchandising practices, has appointed Clint Miller as Director, Business Development. From the release:

Miller is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in web monetization, analytics, traffic acquisition and social media. Most recently, Miller was the Principal and Co-Founder of Avalanche Media where he and his team aggregated and distributed CPC text and CPA lead generation advertising to web publishers and traffic networks for monetization. Prior to that, Miller was Director of Business Development at Lycos generating revenue, and licensing content services and technology across all product verticals with a specialization in search.”

Boston based Idera, a leading provider of Microsoft SharePoint management and administration tools, has appointed Wayne Washburn as Director of SharePoint products. From the release:

Boston based SHIFT Communications, a marketing agency that lives at the intersection of traditional communications and social media, has appointed Joel Richman as VP of the Boston Office. From the release:
