Today Pew Research’s Daily Number examines tweeters. According to the Pew Internet & American Life Project, as of May 2011 only 13% of online adults currently use Twitter — up from 8% in November 2010. The most growth has been in the Gen X cohort, as opposed to younger teens. From November to May, the fraction of online adults aged 25-34 using Twitter grew from 9% to 19%, and grew from 8% to 14% among those aged 35-44.
