If I had a dollar for every hour I spent playing Halo 3 in my friend’s dorm freshman year, I probably wouldn’t cringe as hard when I take a look at my bank account statements. But Halo 3 is a distant memory as Halo 4 is now. We covered the latest installment in the popular franchise upon its release earlier this month, and while it received overwhelmingly popular reviews, Microsoft Game Studios isn’t done yet. An image leaked today hints at the upcoming Halo 4 release dates for three Halo 4 map packs.

The gaming arm for VentureBeat noted this afternoon that German fan site The Halo Council posted a screenshot that leaks (in German obviously) that three Halo 4 map packs release date will come in December, February, and April.

“Crimson Map Pack (Wreckage, Harvest, Shatter) = December 10th
Majestic Map Pack (Landfall, Monolith, Skyline) = February 25th
Castle Map Pack (Daybreak, Outcast, Perdition) = April 1st”

The Halo Council posted a disclaimer on its site saying that they weren’t sure whether the leak held any merit or not. However, It looks as if the screenshot and subsequent information is legit as VentureBeat then reached out to Microsoft Game Studios. They received this statement in return,

“Halo 4 War Games Map Packs will become available in December, February and April. The exact release dates are pending the production schedule for each map pack, but we look forward to sharing more details in due time.”

For those wondering whether you’ll have to break the bank to receive the latest maps, don’t sweat it. The three packs are included at a discount in the Halo 4 Season Pass, which runs for $25, which of course was also included with the Halo 4 Limited Edition.
