50 on Fire nominations closed one week ago, and we have been tirelessly plugging through each and every one of them since. Wondering what’s taking so long? Let me break it down for you.
We received over 2,000 submissions, more than half of which applied to individual nominees. Hundreds upon hundreds of inventors in tech and media, disrupters in dining and retail, newsmakers in marketing and advertising, luminaries in design and education, innovators in healthcare and medicine, dreamers in arts and entertainment, and visionaries in sports and fitness. And very few duplicates.
You didn’t make it easy, Bostonians, but we shouldn’t have been surprised. In fact, we asked for it. Time and time again.
Rest assured that all of your thoughtful testimonials, witty remarks, and rave reviews got the consideration they deserved. 2,000+ submissions have been narrowed down to a selection of about 20 nominations in each category, which we’ll be sharing with you over the next week. Now it’s up to our private panel of judges to select five winners in each of the ten categories.
