This is it. The holiday all of Boston has been patiently waiting for is finally here. St. Patrick’s Day 2013 is just around the corner, and Boston’s bars and restaurants are going all out to make sure your St. Paddy’s Day celebrations are the best they can possibly be. From traditional Irish food to live music to green beer, here is a round-up of where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2013 in Boston all weekend long. Whether or not you’re Irish, there’s something for everyone. So put on your (green) drinking caps, stay hungry for some corned beef and get ready to party!
Thursday, March 14
Beginning March 14th, Briar Group restaurants – The Green Briar, The Harp, Ned Devine’s, M.J. O’Connor’s, Anthem and Solas – will be serving up corned beef and cabbage dinners. The Irish food continues through Sunday.
Friday, March 15
Kitty O’Shea’s – 5pm – For just $5, get into the BarCrawls.com St. Paddy’s kickoff party at Kitty O’Shea’s, which includes half-priced appetizers and, of course, plenty of drinks.
Olde Magoun’s Saloon –This pub in Somerville is running a special St. Paddy’s menu in honor of the holiday. From Friday through Sunday, feast on Irish classics like potato and leek soup, corned beef sandwiches, shepherd’s pie and more. Of course, there will be plenty of beer flowing from the tap, too! Additionally, there will be live Irish music on Saturday and Sunday.
Dropkick Murphy’s – 7:30pm – TD Garden – Kick off St. Patrick’s Day weekend right with some tunes courtesy of Boston’s own Dropkick Murphy’s performing live at the Garden.
Saturday, March 16
Saint Paddy’s Luck of the Irish PubCrawl – 10am – Faneuil Hall – Challenge yourself with the “Luck of the Irish” PubCrawl on Saturday. How many bars can you make it to?
Green Kegs & Hammered Bar Crawl Day One – 11am – Choose from seven start locations around Boston and meander your way around various bars with this crawl. The festivities continue on Sunday with three start locations.
Grafton Street — Class up your day with a traditional Irish feast from Grafton Street in Harvard Square. The menu — served both Saturday and Sunday — includes corned beef, shepherd’s pie, Guinness beef stew and arctic char.
Sunday, March 17
Black Rose – 8am – Start early at the Black Rose’s Irish breakfast on Sunday morning. The festivities continue throughout the day with pints and live music courtesy of Gentlemen Hall.
ShamRock Your Body – 9am – 11am – Boston Sports Clubs – Burn some calories before drinking all afternoon at Boston Sports’ Club free class on Sunday. The workout will be set to a soundtrack of high-energy Irish tunes and includes sit-ups, lunges, leg lifts and more. It’s open to non-members, and the BSC in Medford and Wellesley are the two area clubs participating.
Faneuil Hall – The Marketplace has repurposed its Christmas lights for the holiday, turning them green in honor of St. Patrick. Additionally, many of Faneuil Hall’s bars and restaurants will be celebrating, including the Gettin’ Lucky Party at Dick’s Last Resort and live music and corned beef at Anthem.
Ned Devine’s – 9am – Ned Devine’s is kicking off St. Patrick’s Day early with Irish food, like corned beef spring rolls and fish and chips. A live band from Galway, Ireland is taking the stage at 2 p.m. and Irish Step Dancers will perform at 3:30 p.m.
The Green Briar – 9am – Located in Brighton Center, the Green Briar will be serving a traditional Irish breakfast from 10am – 1pm. There will also be Irish step dancers, live Irish music, and a DJ at night.
Lansdowne Pub – 10 am – Lansdowne Pub kicks off their 4th annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Sunday featuring live music and authentic Irish eats.
dbar –11am – dbar will be serving up green beer for just $3 while supplies last, so get in there ASAP. If food is what you’re looking for, order dbar’s Drunk & Naked Lobster Omelet, which includes Lobster Drunk on Champagne-Butter Glaze with Sweet Corn and Gruyere Cheese. Amazing!
South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade – 1pm – South Boston – The second largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the nation celebrates its 112th year in the making. Capiz Lounge at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel – You’ll inevitably be sporting green on Sunday, so why not get discounted eats for it? Show up to the Capiz Lounge wearing green, and you’ll be granted 20 percent off bar appetizers.
Dropkick Murphy’s – 6pm – House of Blues – After all the fun in Southie, head to the House of Blues to close your St. Patrick’s Day weekend right with some more Dropkick Murphy’s.
