Welcome to Charlotte Inno, a brand new digital media, events and data company focused on local innovation.

We’re part of a growing network of sites  we’re in Boston (launched in ’08),  D.C. (’12),  Chicago (’14), Austin (’15), the Twin Cities (’17), Rhode Island (’17), Cincinnati (’17) Atlanta (’18), Wisconsin (’18), Richmond (’18), Colorado (’18) and Tampa Bay (’19) — committed to covering and connecting the people, companies, trends and topics that are driving and defining Charlotte’s startup and tech communities.

American Inno is also owned by the American City Business Journals, making us a sister publication to the prestigious Charlotte Business Journal.

Charlotte Inno will be led by staff writer and editor Courtney Gabrielson and General Manager Juan Garzón, who previously ran StartCharlotte, the city’s one-stop-shop for startup news and resources. StartCharlotte will be folded into Charlotte Inno, helping power this new platform. For more information on this relationship, read here.

Inno aims to help strengthen Charlotte’s ecosystem through four core products  a fun, twice-a-week newsletter  sign up for The Beat!  authoritative, insightful and original editorial, social, engaging events and meetups, and comprehensive directories and data (take a tour of our startup, careers and events directories now).

We love to tell stories about the people behind the companies, ideas and organizations that are shaping the present and future of the Charlotte business landscape. Know a startup or entrepreneur we should we be in touch with? Let us know at CharlotteInfo@AmericanInno.com.

On Inno, you’ll also find longer looks into the trends and topics that are impacting and influencing the city’s reputation as an emerging tech hub, as well as resource-driven lists, multimedia and much, much more.

And, along with daily news and analysis that will help those in the community stay informed and plugged in, Inno will also serve as an onboarding tool for people and businesses that are new to the ecosystem. Inno’s Guides — you check out our first one here  are designed to offer comprehensive looks at resources that are available to the community, from accelerators to incubators, VCs to angels, and beyond. If it’s local and innovative, it’ll be in Charlotte Inno.

We also have several directories to help you further navigate and discover this burgeoning ecosystem. On the Inno Pages, you’ll be able to filter through hundreds of local startups by funding, stage, size, industry and more. And on the Events and Careers directories, you can browse through upcoming events and recent job postings respectively.

The best way to stay connected to Inno is to sign up for the newsletter and we’ll see you in your inbox on Tuesday and Thursday. (Also, be sure to bookmark this site and pass it along to anyone that you think may be interested in tapping into the region’s ecosystem).

We’re going to be hosting our inaugural meetup in August and we’ll be on hand to answer any and all questions; we look forward to meeting you. (Space is limited for this one, so be sure to sign up here). Throughout the year, Charlotte Inno will be hosting a variety of events, from focused meetups to big award celebrations.

Finally, thanks to our Founding Partners OrthoCarolina, EY, Carolina Fintech Hub, City of Charlotte and Charlotte Business Resources and our Founding Supporter Dualboot Partners for supporting both the launch of Charlotte Inno and the region’s entrepreneurs and startup and tech communities.
