Margaritas, anyone?

El Centro, a staple establishment on U Street, has taken over the old Third Edition space at the corner of Wisconsin and M Streets NW in the heart of Georgetown. The owner of Third Edition partnered up with El Centro’s ownership to bring a [much needed] fresh feel to the M Street corridor. We went last night for a sneak peek, and it was truly a great experience.

First of all there is no more tiki bar, and the space has been opened up to make it easy to lounge with friends, break it down on the dance floor, or access one of the 5 bars between the two levels. A DJ booth has been added, but the feel is not too ‘clubby’ by any means. The ‘frat bro’ feel has also been washed away, as the crowd seemed to be a healthy mix of young professionals all enjoying the flavored margaritas and awesome mix of imported beers.

If you’re looking for something new in the area, definitely check out the newest addition to the Georgetown dining and nightlife scene. Between the friendly staff, comfortable space, and awesome patio area, it’s not a stretch to say that many DC residents will feel a reignited love for going out in Georgetown.
