Each week we will announce the featured Student Intern Network member of the week, the winner of an awesome prize pack and infinite internet stardom.

This week it’s all about Nik G from George Washington University in Washington, DC. Nik has been a member for nearly two years and is currently employed with a Student Intern Network employer partner.

Meet Nik:

“Originally from Austin Texas, I went to The George Washington University on a Division I Swimming Scholarship. After 4 years, 2 as captain of the team, I graduated in May of 2013 with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry.”

How long have you been a member of Student Intern Network?

“I have been a SIN member now for almost 2 years; and because of SIN I locked down my personal best internship experience. I was able to intern for a mobile application company, called Purpella. Following my internship, I was offered my very first job! I now manage 7 interns in the DC area, and am responsible for the success of the mobile application business development in the region. Thankfully, I learned of Student Intern Network in college, so I never had to endure a bad internship!”

What’s your favorite aspect of living in Washington, DC?

“My favorite thing about living in Washington, DC is the energetic culture that young professionals bring to the city. Almost everyone you meet and work with in DC is from a different state, or even a different country. With this diversity in place, the city transforms into a hub for young professionals from around the world to work hard together and, of course, party hard together.”

What’s your craziest life goal?

“My craziest life goal would have to my ambition to become a physician in my home state of Texas. After graduating from college, I knew that I did not want to go into a graduate program right away, but I instead needed time away from school to learn about the workplace environment. Student Intern Network has played a pivotal role in my decision to stay in DC and work for an amazing company. I could not be happier of my decision.”

If you were an animal, what would you be?

“If I could be any animal, I would choose a cheetah. I pride myself in my ability to respond quickly and professionally to change, and my ability to be self-confident in any situation.”
