It’s easy to stand out from the crowd if you pay attention to details. Sometimes the smallest gesture can leave a lasting impression, and even forge lasting relationships. Something we can all improve is the willingness and ability to show gratitude to mentors, advisors, professors and employers.

That brings us to the Career Hack of the Week: Properly show gratitude

There are plenty of ways to show gratitude, but nothing will stand out quite like a personal gesture. Try writing a hand written thank you note if someone has helped or advised you. Yes, you can send an email – but they won’t remember that quite the same. Maybe you pick  up a trinket or souvenir while traveling, or send a postcard while away. It doesn’t matter how you show thanks, as long as you are doing so – meaningfully.
