Yes, folks – it may sound too good to be true but we assure you there are actually free donut ice cream sandwiches in Boston. Though we’ve never experienced the sugar-bliss that is a donut ice cream sandwich, we’re fairly certain they won’t disappoint your sweet tooth.

According to Union Square Donuts Facebook page, the donut shop will be giving away free donut ice cream sandwiches at the West Elm in Fenway from 1 to 3 p.m. All in celebration (obviously) of National Ice Cream Month – which might sound like a made-up holiday but we’ll totally take it.

The frozen donuts are described as “filled with malted vanilla ice cream… dipped in home-made magic shell.” And it seems that all other U.S. West Elm locations are also giving away free ice cream today, according to Facebook.

But if you’re looking for the closest West Elm ice cream social, you’ll find it at 160 Brookline Ave. in Fenway today. Get to it – those donut ice cream sandwiches are calling your name!
