The wait is almost over for the much-anticipated restaurant opening of Bastille Kitchen. Fort Point’s upcoming addition, which was listed as one of 2014’s most anticipated restaurant openings in the country by Eater, is slated to open next week at 49 Melcher Street on Monday, July 28.

According to a release, the restaurant includes an upper level area, which seats 160 in the dining room and a separate lounge/bar area, which seats up to 42 guests. The downstairs of Bastille Kitchen features the Chalet Bar and Lounge, which can be booked for private events for up to 90 guests.

The entire Bastille Kitchen space boasts 11,000 square feet of space and features a color scheme of black, white and burnt crimson orange tones, notes the release. Throughout the space, guests will find natural wide-plank white oak flooring and French-style bench seating as well as European hard oak tables with Thonet-style chairs. The restaurant’s designer, Petra Hausberger, also decorated the bistro with eclectic antiques, bringing an old-world charm to the bistro.

As far as food goes, Diners won’t be disappointed. Executive Chef Adam Kube has designed a menu focused on “modern Parisian fare,” notes a release. Menu items include starters such as Frisée Aux Lardons featuring duck confit, poached egg, sherry vinaigrette and duck lardons; and Lobster Leek Tart, with celeriac remoulade and tarragon vinaigrette.

Dishes also include Moelle Rotie with roasted bone marrow and sherry-maple glazed sweet breads; Seafood Sausage Agnolotti featuring a rectangular shaped ravioli seasoned with smoked paprika and pink peppercorn, served with cod, shrimp and lobster and tossed with saffron beurre blanc and anchovy confit. The menu also includes an array of flatbreads ranging between $15 and $18, as well as a customizable Raw Bar with oysters, littleneck clams, Octopus Ceviche, and House-Cured Salmon.

Guests can also expect an excellent wine list, hand-selected by Sommelier Michael Adkins. There will be plenty of French wines (obviously) as well as a rotating selection of international, domestic, and locally-produced beer. Bastille Kitchen’s craft cocktail program “focuses on merging fresh ingredients, elixirs, and high-quality spirits with classic styles that feature a modern twist,” notes the release.

The Parisian-style French bistro will be open seven nights a week – Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to Midnight. The upper level bar and downstairs Chalet Bar are open daily from 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
