Hubway has already changed the way Bostonians interact with bikes and cycle throughout the city. Now, the popular ride-share service wants your help changing the way it looks. On Monday, Hubway announced that it’s opened up submissions for its #HubwayEveryday Design Contest.

Artists, designers, Hubway users and anyone so inclined are welcome to submit their artsy ideas for a new bike look until the contest closes on August 12. At that point, Hubway will review all of the compositions and select five finalists to move on to the next round.

Hubway’ team of judges will be comprised of “representatives from all four Hubway municipal system partners, ” according to the contest webpage, who will then post the finalists’ designs online for the public to decide a sole winner.

To the victor go the spoils. Hubway will also feature the winning designer’s rendering and name – or Twitter Handle – on the new bike, they’ll also receive an opportunity to be the first to ride the bike, a feature in a Hubway newsletter, one free Hubway annual membership and one free registration to Hub On Wheels, September 21st, 2014.

All five finalists will also receive a free Hubway annual membership.

“This isn’t a contest for professional designers, per se (though of course they are welcome and encouraged to participate), but rather an opportunity for the Hubway community to share ideas and creativity about what makes the entire metro-Boston region tick,” Benjy Kantor, marketing manager of Hubway told BostInno . “I can envision designs featuring the Boston skyline or the Citgo sign, or perhaps something celebrating the fact that Somerville was home to one of the first American flags.”

If you’ve hit a creative roadblock on how to reimagine Hubway’s bikes, fret not. Hubway is urging participants to consider “What inspires you about the area in which you live, work, or go to school? Why do you ride? Why is it important to #HubwayEveryday? Think about what makes Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Somerville, and the entire metro region tick.”

Opportunities abound for how you can overhaul Hubway’s look. The possibilities are endless. You’re constrained only by the extent of your imagination.

So let it run wild.

The only rule is that you somehow incorporate the hashtag #HubwayEveryday into your submission.

To enter, email your graphic designs in a PDF format to socialmedia@thehubway.com with the subject, “#HubwayEveryday Design Contest.” The contest is limited to just one submission per person so be sure to include your full name, mailing address and phone number with along with your other materials.

If you make it through to the final round, Hubway will notify you and discuss further details pertaining to the public voting aspect.
