American Apparel is no stranger to the news. But one headline that the label hasn’t yet prompted? Its first female director – until now.

On Wednesday, the company appointed Colleen Brown to its board of directors. The former CEO of Fisher Communications, a group of TV and radio stations, Colleen is one of four new members added to the company’s board in the wake of previous CEO Dov Charney’s sexual harassment allegations.

What can we expect from the shift? I, for one, would support a fresh perspective (sans the racy disputes).
