Prepare yourself, Boston – because all of your comfort food-loving dreams are about to come true. On August 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a Kitchen Kibitz pop-up brunch combining your two favorite food styles – Southern comfort food and Jewish Deli fare!

The Kitchen Kibitz pop-up concept will be happening at one of the best Southern restaurants around, Hungry Mother. And if you think hush puppies and pastrami have nothing in common – think again. The two seemingly different food styles will be thrown together in this “Southern Schmear” hybrid pop-up, with a menu that looks absolutely delicious.

According to the event description, this pop-up brunch concept will “feature a Southern inspired Jewish deli created by Food and Wine Best New Chef and James Beard Finalist Chef Barry Maiden.” So, you can expect nothing less than fantastic food from the kitchen.

For those unfamiliar with Kitchen Kibitz, the Jewish culinary pop-up concept created by food entrepreneur, Jeff Gabel, “teams up with Boston chefs to highlight classic flavors of the world and elevate the techniques with a modern spin,” according to the event description.

Tickets are still on sale for the Southern Schmear pop-up. For more information and a look at the menu, check here.
